⭐ New: Create Custom Staff Roles
Now you can customize the permissions of your staff members and team!
We are super excited to announce that you can now create custom staff roles! We know that not all businesses and teams run exactly the same, and that, as a business owner, you may want to keep certain pieces of information private, while still allowing your staff access to the right tools to do their jobs efficiently and productively. With the launching of custom staff roles you have the ability to make the best decision for what works for you and your staff members.
With this new feature, you can customize the permissions of each staff member by creating individual roles, or you can create and assign roles to groups of people. You can get super granular with the permissions you assign (think selecting specific reports an employee can/cannot access, or if they can apply discount codes or process free sales in the POS or not), or you can select whole areas of the platform (ex. ‘marketing’ or ‘reports’) to assign everything within that section.
Note that you can create any role starting from scratch, or you can start from a pre-existing set of permissions (i.e. Front Desk) and make the adjustments you need. You can also bulk-assign newly created roles, or revoke roles from existing staff members.
To create your own custom staff roles, go to Settings > Staff management > Roles.
Below, we have an example of how you might create and assign the role of Marketing manager.
You can keep that role focused on only the permissions that matter to the marketing manager.
